About the tour
Overview
Nestled among an ancient rainforest, the town of Kuranda is filled with alternative market stores with friendly people creating the most unique one-of-a-kind items, indigenous galleries, and historic influences with an overall mountain town hippy-culture feel.
Your Kuranda tour starts with a private transfer to Australia’s award winning Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Travel 7.5 km (over 4.5 miles) above and through world heritage rainforest with views overlooking Cairns and the mountain range. At each stop, you’ll have opportunities to take short scenic walks to see waterfalls and spectacular views. The first stop features some amazing basket ferns and a breathtaking view spot. The second stop hosts splendid views of the mighty Barron Falls. The skyrail ends in the town of Kuranda, where you can enjoy some lunch, do some shopping through the markets, visit a butterfly sanctuary, or immerse yourselves in nature with a walk through the world heritage rainforest. You will have approximately three hours to explore the town before heading down the mountain on a historic train ride with great views of the rainforest, waterfalls, mountains, and Cairns. Your experience comes with an upgrade to gold class seating where you will be given a cheese tasting platter, drinks, and refreshments.
Your private driver will meet you at Freshwater station where you will return to your accommodation.
