Overview

Discover the Heart of Australia’s Indigenous Culture

Embark on a four-day adventure, guided by Aboriginal experts, through the captivating landscapes of Uluru, Kings Canyon, and Kata Tjuta.

Participate in traditional ceremonies, bush walks, and cultural workshops. Stay one night in camping-style tents/ swags, enjoy local cuisine, and gain profound insights into Indigenous heritage and connection to the land.

Main Guide: All our guides are Aboriginal, live with, or trained by local Aborigines.

First night stay with a local Aboriginal family, 3 hours away from the resort along a 4WD track. This is an authentic outback experience with modern comforts.

Enjoy a traditional smoking ceremony, bush food and medicine talks, a language lesson, and a 2-hour campfire discussion on historical and contemporary issues/facts/myths. Taste ‘roo tail, explore Aboriginal artefacts, and a stunning hilltop view sunset walk.

Uluru Ayers Rock tour will be joined by Anangu ( local Aboriginal) who live in the national park. They will guide you through the highlights and share stories passed down for 50000 years.

PROPOSED ITINERARY

Duration: 3 nights

Day One

Arrive at Ayers rock airport. Pick up by your outback guide.

Drive 3 hours onto a remote dirt road to the homelands of an Aboriginal family.

Here you will be hosted and learn directly from the traditional owners of the land.

Highlights:

  • Welcome to Country.
  • Campfire under the stars.
  • Stay overnight in camping style tents/ swags. Includes amenities.
  • Dinner- local foods to try such as Kangaroo tail on the fire. Also, other options to suit guests.
  • Bush walks on private lands.
  • Bush tucker: chance to dig witchetty grubs, harvest from the lands.
  • Learn Men’s and Women’s stories. The offering of new information passed down to ensure development as a person grows in age.
  • Immerse yourself in the unique tapestry of Indigenous culture and gain a deeper understanding of human relationships and connection to ‘Country.

Day Two

Kings Canyon

Itinerary:

  • Breakfast at camp.
  • Early morning Rim Walk tour Kings Canyon. 6km hike ( easier trails available for all abilities)
  • View Spot
  • Canyon Exploration
  • Garden of Eden
  • Lunch at a Cattle Station. Features camel burgers and all types of real outback cuisine.
  • Return to the Ayers Rock resort. Accommodation options are chosen based on your needs.
  • Optional Extra: Dinner show this evening. Such as Sound of silence, Field of Lights or the drone show.

Day Three

Kata Tjuta Tour

Itinerary:

Duration 4 hours. Sunrise half day

  • Pick up times vary to meet the sunrise or your requirements.
  • Sunrise over the Olgas
  • Walpa Gorge or Valley of the winds. (to suit your fitness levels)

Afternoon:

Uluru Tour with a local aboriginal guide from Mutitjulu ( Uluru community who live in the national park)

Total Duration: 4 hours

Itinerary:

Pick up times vary to meet the sunset or your requirements.

  • 30 minute drive to Uluru from the Ayers Rock resort.
  • Meet Anangu guide.
  • Mala walk.
  • Kuniya Walk
  • Mutitjulu Waterhole
  • Caves with indigenous rock art
  • Indigenous Culture and stories
  • Viewing Area. Sunset.

Day Four

Depart region. Airport transfer via shuttle.
